This one lovely individual has joined me in my nutrition
program. She is doing so great with healthier food choices and life in general.
I am so excited for her and proud. It only takes a single moment to decide you
want to change. Yesterday, she asked me about a Greek yogurt dip. So this
inspired me to share some of my favorite Greek yogurt uses. In other words, if
you hate Greek yogurt today’s blog is not for you.
If you blend avocados, garlic, and dill with Greek yogurt it
makes a great salad dressing.
| Use these instead of chocolate chips if you want! Amazing. |
Melt chocolate chips (dark chocolate is delicious…or have
fun with it) and blend with Greek yogurt for frosting. You can use vanilla or
plain with this when your sweet tooth is screaming. Add cinnamon or vanilla
extract for some more flavor.
As far as dipping sauces, I wouldn’t just swap Greek yogurt
instead of sour cream because those dry dip mixes have a lot of sodium in them.
The one my mom has in the house is 135 mg per serving. But wait for it…wait for
it…there are 16 servings in the pouch. You do the math. 2, 160 mg of sodium.
140 mg short of your daily allowance is in an appetizer alone.
This is all sorts of amazing. If you don’t like buffalo
chicken dip then you surely are not human. Here is a healthier version to it.
1 cup of plain Greek yogurt
¼ cup of crumbled blue cheese
2 Tbsp of parsley (chopped)
1 tsp of hot sauce
Blend it and dip some celery sticks in it.
If you see the trending topic to all of this, it is swapping
this for that. Changing this into that. It is all about a lifestyle change. Don’t
use the word “diet” because you are giving your goals a finish line. (Remember,
success should always be a journey with milestones along the way.)Then you get
into the vicious cycle of yo-yo dieting, crash dieting, needing to lose x,y,
and z pounds for this event or that vacation. Let’s be honest with ourselves,
contrary to the picture below, Big Macs are not that good beyond the minutes it
took to consume it.
| Someone who asked me for a grocery list and some recipes. So I asked what foods she liked. You see the part that threw me off...love her! |
